Aurora Sky

I think it was 2005. I'd heard on the local radio that there might be a chance to see the Northern Lights over Ayrshire. I waited and waited and was about to go home when I saw a band of white ripple through the sky. This I had a camera phone so I watched the sky with the naked eye.

This May I heard that once again there might be a chance of seeing the lights, a once in 20 year occurrence. Even without my camera I could see incredible colours, the camera picked up the vivid intensity of them.

I felt the vastness of the sky and the same excitement of 20 years before. A really memorable night and lovely way to reconnect with myself from 2005 - a lot has happened but I haven't changed that much - I still feel the same sense of awe when I look up.
