What to drink this summer? Aperol Spritz Slush, a taste of summer sunshine!
What will your signature summer drink be? I love rosé wine and chilled crisp whites, but when the temperature soars and I'm sitting in the garden, I want something a little more refreshing. Aperol Spritz Slush takes a bit of preparation, but I think it is worth it!
Aperol Spritz Slush: a taste of summer sunshine!
Ingredients
- 75ml Aperol liqueur
- 400ml soda water
- 125ml Prosecco
- Zest of 1 orange
- 125ml no-added-sugar orange squash (65ml if using double concentrate)
- 1 orange, thinly sliced, to decorate
Method
- Mix all the ingredients (except for the sliced orange) together in a large jug. Pour into a shallow, freezer-proof, lidded container, then seal and freeze. After 30 minutes, scrape the frozen mixture with a fork to break up any large ice crystals, seal and refreeze, then repeat this 5 more times every 30 minutes. The granita should look like slush when it's ready.
- Spoon the granita into 4 glasses and decorate with the slices of orange — and cocktail umbrellas, if you have any!
Cheers!
